Once the commercial rent judge has been seized, Decree No. 2026-683 of 27 July 2026 allows the parties’ statements of case (mémoires) to be served in accordance with the rules governing notifications between lawyers. This simplification, which applies to pending proceedings from 1 October 2026, does not apply where the defendant has not appointed a lawyer, in which case the statement must be served on them by bailiff.
